My therapeutic approach is collaborative, strengths-based, and trauma-informed. I work with my clients to elicit their strengths and resiliencies as they navigate through their own unique mental health challenges. I draw from my skills and extensive training in solution-focused brief therapy (SFBT), cognitive-behavioural therapy (CBT), motivational interviewing (MI), and acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT) to empower my clients to move towards a healthier, more peaceful life.
I completed my Master of Social Work (MSW) degree from the University of Toronto, with a specialization in Mental Health and Health. I also hold an Honours Bachelor of Science from the University of Toronto. In addition to private practice, I work as a Registered Social Worker at Toronto Western Hospital where I support patients and their families affected by chronic disease, obesity, and illness. I also lead educational support initiatives to enhance psychosocial healthcare delivery for bariatric surgery patients in primary care.
My education and clinical experiences enable me to provide specialized support to clients faced with a major life transition or a big health adjustment, either for themselves or within their family. I most often see individual clients with depression, anxiety, disordered eating patterns, eating disorders, problematic substance use, self-esteem and body image distress, grief, and relationship stress.
I am a member of the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers, and of the Ontario Association of Social Workers.
